Following the tragic event at the Chiefs parade, it was clear that immediate support was needed for young children and families affected by the incident, whether they had been at the event, seen it on TV, or heard about it at school. As Kansas City’s dedicated resource for children’s mental health, The Children’s Place was uniquely positioned to provide comfort and assistance during this difficult time.
Our objectives were to deliver prompt support and guidance to families in the aftermath and to implement ongoing strategies as the situation evolved. This approach ensured that those impacted, regardless of their coping abilities, received the help they needed.
